Putting and Green Reading

A consistent routine, good posture and sound fundamentals are the attributes of the very best putters. With around 45% of the game on the green, instruction on evaluating conditions, reading break and determining speed, will increase one putt success rate and dramatically improve proximity to hole. This saves strokes by reducing the number of dreaded three-putt, or even worse, the four-putt.

Determining the correct speed consistently is achieved through a better understanding of the three components of the putting stroke. Executing these components successfully is what develops feel, and this produces a natural confident stroke. Evaluating conditions and green reading is easier than most golfers imagine, and can be achieved efficiently and rapidly on each hole.

Identify when to be “gung-ho” and when to lag. Additionally, the putt from off the green is a valuable skill. Ever heard the frequent golfism – “ your worst putt will be as good as your best chip”?

The lesson goal is to take the students existing putting approach and transform it into an efficient and simple routine.
