COURSE MANAGEMENT

Golf Course Management - The mental approach to getting around the golf course.

The Mental Approach to Getting Around the Course

Conscious or sub-conscious anxiety is the biggest contributor to poor shot outcomes. Making better decisions on the course is achieved through an efficient yet thorough pre-shot routine that has the singular goal of reducing anxiety and approaching each shot in the most positive frame of mind. The evaluation of both course conditions and weather factors, and how this will not only affect club selection, but the confidence to play the shot.

The development of these skills start on the driving range. Understanding one’s ability and setting realistic expectations is key. Understanding the difference between two approaches - the conservative strategy/confident swing, and the aggressive strategy/tentative swing. Evaluation of the odds – what is the best option that will have the greatest reward at the least risk? Learn to face the game’s physical, mental and emotional challenges.
